Porta-Bote Vs Inflatable kayaks
Inflatable kayaks suit people who like to row on rivers with rough terrain, where getting a regular boat could be quite tricky. Inflatable kayaks can be inflated at the spot and so, they offer a rather easy approach to the river or from it. However, nothing in life is perfect, and so are Inflatable kayaks. Their PVC hull is extremely susceptible to punctures, and a puncture spells disappointment. In fact, when considering the advantages of Inflatable kayaks, the main thing which pops into mind it their portability, and the fact that they fit for 2 rowers.

Porta Bote does all that and more – when folded, Porta Bote resembles a 4'' thick surfboard, and since it weighs between 47 lbs. (21.kg) to 96 lbs. (43.6kg), it can be carried easily, without a trailer and on top of a 4x4 wheel car. You can get your Porta-Bote anywhere you wish to go, whether it is the sea or a remote river. Similar to inflatable kayaks, Porta-Bote can fit 2 rowers easily, in its smallest model, and 5 people in its biggest. Yet, the best advantage is that unlike inflatable kayaks, Porta Bote will never suffer from punctures or leaks of air.

Porta-Bote Vs Aluminum canoes
One of the biggest advantages aluminum canoes have is their bulky and strong structure. However this advantage is also a disadvantage - aluminum canoes are unstable, tend to flip over and they can corrode or sustain abrasions. And if that's not enough, try lifting aluminum canoes to a remote river which doesn't have a clear access to it…and what about the trailer you would need, in order to bring it TO the river?

Porta Bote is built of an extremely strong material called Polypropylene, which is not only strong but also flexible. That means that unlike the hull of aluminum canoes, even when the Porta-Bote's hull hits something rough, it doesn't break or bruise. Getting Porta Bote to and from the river, doesn't require a trailer, because unlike aluminum Canoes, which are big, Portabote can be folded and placed directly on top of the car's roof.

Porta-Bote Vs Flats boats
Flats boats, as the name indicates, have a flat structure, which is designed to enable these boats to float on shallow water (less than 2 feet). Flats boats are mainly utilitarian, aren't as lavish as other boats and each aspect of their structure, and are dedicated to their purpose, in a somewhat ascetic way. Flats boats are used for fishing near the coastal area, where rocks and shallow water may damage their hull, hence their design is structured in a way that will avoid being hit, by underwater protrusions.

The Portabote doesn't need more than 4 inches of water (!!) in order to float. When this is compared to the 2 feet of water Flats Boats need, Porta-Bote comes with a huge upper-hand.
The smallest Portabote fits 2 people comfortably. The biggest fits 5. Most Flats Boats are designed for 2 people, and even then, the people aboard them, have to move in sync, if they wish to stay onboard.

  • Advantages

Porta-Bote offers many financial and efficiency advantages over other kinds of boats. This boat is made entirely of Polypropylene, a material which is both extremely strong, yet very flexible. Polypropylene enables Porta-Bote to have these qualities:
1.Similar to an inflatable kayak, for instance, when you finish using Porta-Bote, simply fold it into a surfboard-size structure, and mount it on your car's roof (no need for costly boat transport trailers).
2.Similar to aluminum boats, Polypropylene is strong, doesn't suffer from erosion and can serve you for many years at end, without breaking, buckling or tiring.

These two unique and adverse traits, turn Porta-Bote into a boat which fits many purposes, and can replace many kinds of functional boats:
    1.Inflatable Kayaks
    2.Duck Boats
    3.Zodiac Boats
    4.Drift Boats
    5.Ranger Boats

Porta-Bote's advantages can be divided into two – financial advantages, and efficiency advantages:

    Financial:
  • This light weighted hulls requires only a small motor which means low fuel expanses.
  • A smaller motor means lower thrust, and less erosion of the transom.
  • Polypropylene hull is resistant to holes and cracks.
  • Polypropylene hull is resistant to erosion and rust.
  • These two traits make Porta-Bote maintenance-free.
  • 10 year warranty on hull and hinges makes the Porta Bote a smart investment.
  • Porta-Bote is small and light-weighted – no need for boat trailers, marina docking fees or an extra parking lot near your house. Mount it on your privet car's roof, or attach it to the side of your caravan and you're set to go. At home, you can hang it from the garage ceiling, and save valuable space.

    Efficiency:
  • Polypropylene hull is extremely light.
  • Small motor means an easier installation and dismantling of the engine on the transom.
  • The color of the hull is embedded in each polypropylene molecule, meaning it will never peel.
  • Polypropylene is very light, so carrying the Porta-Bote to and from the shore, can be done by one person only.
  • The Porta-Bote can carry up to 807 pounds (367kg), be it people or provision.
  • The Porta-Bote needs only 4'' (11cm) of water in order to float!
  • The Porta-Bote takes only a few minutes to unfold, and the same time to fold and store.
  • The polypropylene hull is capable of absorbing 90% of the force of a wave, and contributes significantly to the stability of the boat.
  • The Porta-Bote is still buoyant even when almost completely filled with water.

  • Inflatable kayak
Though an inflatable kayak does not require boat trailers, marina docking fees, or a parking lot near your house, one of the biggest disadvantages that an inflatable kayak has is durability. Made of PVC, the inflatable kayak is susceptible to ruptures, punctures and leaks of air. Its main advantages are that it can get into rivers or lakes, where larger boats get no access to.
When folded, Porta Bote resembles a surfboard which weighs between 96 lbs. (43.6kg) to 47 lbs. (21.kg), so getting it to a remote river or a distant lake is not too much of a hassle. Both Porta Bote and the inflatable kayak do not require boat trailers, since both can be easily folded and place on the car's roof, both don't need parking lots, and both can be rowed with oars.
The huge advantage Porta Bote has over an inflatable kayak is its durability. It needs little maintenance; it doesn't break and can't rupture. In fact, even if you sail it in rough water, Porta-Bote's hull will not sustain damage, and when it comes to stability, Porta-Bote's capability of staying overboard is unprecedented.

    Duck Boats
Anyone who has ever used Duck Boats, knows that Duck Boats are good, provided that they can supply 4 key factors:
1.They need to be small enough to have good accessibility to lakes and rough terrains.
2.Not too small though, since duck hunting can take days, so hunters need their Duck Boats to be big enough to carry provision.
3.Duck Boats have to be quiet in order to enable stealthiness.
4.Duck Boats have to be stable, in order not to recoil from the gunshot, and jettison the hunter.

Porta-Bote possesses all these qualities galore. Its unsurpassed stability can withstand gunfire recoil without swaying. Its accurate steering and strong hull enables the hunter to surreptitiously steal behind duck flocks unnoticed, and the fact it needs on 4'' of water to sail, renders it "sailable" on virtually any terrain you can think of.

    Zodiac Boats
Zodiac Boats suffer from the same disadvantages that inflatable-kayaks suffer from. Though Zodiac Boats are good, swift and handy, they require frequent maintenance, suffer from air leaks and it takes quite a while to inflate them.
Perhaps the biggest advantage Zodiac Boats have is that they are light and foldable, which makes them a perfect tool for youngsters, or for emergency forces.
It is this niche that Porta-Botes beat Zodiac Boats at:
The Porta-Bote is light and foldable – it can be quickly unfolded (6 minutes) in cases of emergency, and quickly folded when no longer needed. Porta-Bote will not break, so if a case of emergency arises, you can rest assure that your Porta-Bote will be ready and functional.

    Drift Boats
Drift Boats are made of wood, so their structure can take rougher terrains. However, this advantage is also their disadvantage – wood can easily break or braise, so sailing Drift Boats on dingy and jagged rivers might cause them damage. Another two major disadvantages Drift Boats have are their size, which means carrying them from one place into the next requires the use of boat transport trailers, and their maintenance (frequent polish and varnish). Drift Boats are susceptible to mildew, and can be irreparably damaged by fire. But perhaps the biggest disadvantage Drift Boats have, is their pour stability – anyone who moves aboard, shakes the entire hull.

Porta-Bote can fill all the purposes of Drift Boats, yet, it lacks the flaws Drift Boats have:
Its hull is extremely durable, strong when needed, yet flexible enough not to break. This flexibility enables more than one person to stand onboard, without even making the Porte-Bote tip (and Porta-Botes can fit 5 people comfortably). Porta-Bote is small enough in order to fit even the tiniest river, and it can suit youngsters who like to go fishing, cruising or take recreational excursions in nature, without requiring boat trailers.

    Ranger Boats
Ranger Boats are needed for monitoring and emergency reasons. These purposes demand Ranger Boats to be strong, efficient, resilient and easy to operate. Porta-Botes can be put to use as Ranger Boats since they can float on extremely shallow water (4'' deep), can withstand ragged banks and thick vegetation, they are unfolded within 6 minutes, and their stability equips them with accurate steering. Porta-Botes can be fitted with different kinds of motors, for different kinds of terrains and purposes. They are easy to operate and are big enough to enable to mount injured vacationers, and ample of medical equipment.

Porta-Bote's unique hull excels itself from many other kinds of boats. Here is a short comparison between Porta-Botes and other boats:

    Porta-Bote Vs Aluminum boats
  • Porta-Bote is more resistant than ordinary aluminum boats.
  • Unlike aluminum boats, Porta-Bote will not rust, and doesn't require maintenance.
  • Aluminum boats need frequent painting. Porta-Bote's paint is embedded within each and every Polypropylene molecule. It will never fade or peel.
  • Unlike the average aluminum boats, Porta-Bote comes with a 10-year Guaranty on its hull.

    Porta-Bote Vs Inflatable boats
  • Porta-Bote is much lighter than an inflatable boat.
  • Inflatable boats need to be dried well before folded in order to prevent mildew.
  • Inflatable boats are susceptible to ruptures.
  • Fact is, most people who own inflatable boats leave them inflated, because it is too much of a hustle to inflate and deflate them.
  • Porta-Bote is light, easy to unfold (6 minutes), easy to fold back, doesn't rupture and takes little room in your garage, or on your car's roof.

    Porta-Bote Vs Canoes
  • Canoes are expensive to buy.
  • Canoes are expensive to maintain (varnish every now and then).
  • Unless you own your own pond, you need to pay in order to dock canoes.
  • Most canoes fit 2 people easily, but what happens if you have a larger family?
  • Canoes are traitorous – one second out of focus and you're overboard.

Like rowing? Porta-Bote comes with oars and can easily replace canoes. Porta-Bote is not only safer, it is much more stable and convenient, and since it comes in 4 different sizes, even if you have a large family, you can still find the right Porta-Bote best fitting your goals.

    Porta-Bote Vs Wooden Boats
  • Unlike regular wooden boats, Porta-Bote doesn't need a mooring place.
  • Moving a wooden boat from one water resort into the next, requires the use of a boat trailer.
  • Porta-Bote folds and can be placed on your private car's roof.
  • Though wooden boats are considered rather reliable (compare to inflatable boats), the hull might break from a jagged rock.
  • Porta-Bote's hull is made of an extremely strong and durable material, called Polypropylene.
  • Wooden boats are known for their instability, especially when there is more than one person aboard.
  • Porta-Bote's flexible hull can divide the weight of the people onboard, and will not sway, even when they stand.
