The Porta Bote is probably one of the most efficient watercrafts you can find, as it generates the characteristics of a fishing boat, sailing boat, rowing boat and rescue boat all in one, eliminating all kinds of aluminum boats, inflatable boats, wooden boats or any other standard fishing boats or sail boats. The Porta Bote also eliminates the need for a boat trailer as it can be carried on top of the car's roof. The Porta Bote has so many advantages over inflatable boats and aluminum boats such as its puncture proof hull which prevent it from getting damaged when hit a sharp rock or coral.

When you think about it, the word "folding", naturally refers to folding shirts, pants, underwear, clean laundry or sometimes even folding your not-good-enough high card hand in Poker… But did it ever occur to you that folding can be associated with boats? Well, come aboard to our Porta-Bote!

In order to help you better understand the different boating terms shown in this website, we've added a short boating glossary:

Beam - the width of the boat at its widest spot.
Bottom of the hull- the part of the hull that is under water. Its form is a determining feature in the boat's navigation capacity.
Bow - the front part of a boat
Bow Trolling Mount- lets you mount a small electric outboard engine to the bow of your Porta-Bote.
Buoyancy - the force that enables an object to float on water
Capsize- to turn a boat over (Not a familiar term with our Porta-Bote as far as we concern…).
Dinghy - a small open boat, usually carried aboard a yacht for going ashore (and a common use of the Porta-Bote as well)
Draft- minimum depth of water needed to float a boat. (Our boat can float even on 4" draft!)
Hull- a boat's shell (and you shall be amazed by our boat's hull…)
Inboard Engine- an engine mounted inside the hull, connected to the propeller by a propeller shaft.
Inflatable boat- a lightweight boat constructed with its sides and bow made of flexible tubes and a flexible flat floor (Surely not your choice for sailing after you'll read about the Porta-Bote…).
Motor shaft- the part of an engine that goes from below the motor head to the propeller. This height is variable for a given horsepower; it can be short, long, or extra long.
Oarlock- U-shaped, circular or other shape which holds the oar and secures it to the buoyancy tube permitting movement for rowing.
Outboard Engine (Motor)- a detachable drive unit mounted on a boat's stern.
Pinch - to sail as close as possible towards the wind
Port - the left side of the boat when looking forward
Power boat- a boat propelled by a motor engine.
Rowing boat- a small boat, driven by forcing one or more oars mounted on the craft via rowlocks to push against the water (and a common use of the Porta-Bote as well)
Sailboata boat which uses wind as the primary means of propulsion (with the sail kit you can turn the Porta Bote to an incredible sailing boat).
Sinking- we really don't know what that is…
Starboard - the right side of the boat when looking forward (the opposite from port).
Stern - the rear of the boat
Transom - the outside flat part of a boat’s stern.
Trim - to adjust the sails
Trolling- a form of angling where lines with hook-rigged lures are dragged behind a boat in attempts entice fish to bite.
Water- that big liquid thing that you need to place around the Porta-Bote to get the desired sailing effect :)

What is it?

When folded, the Porta-Bote fits right on top of the car (no need for a boat trailer). Assembling the Porta-Bote takes no more than a few minutes and no effort what so ever!

    Features

    PortaBote in action Construction – The PortaBote is made out of advanced polypropylene, a material which allows the boat's hull to be absolutely puncture-proof and also allows it to fold without damaging it. The unique construction of the Porta-Bote requires no maintenance at all and furthermore, the Porta-Bote has a life lasting color which doesn't require repainting what so ever. All of the Porta-Bote models come with three removable seats and almost lifetime 10-year warranty.

    Durability - The Porta-Bote is extra-durable as proved for many years with the strictest standard tests of official coast guards in United States, Japan and Europe. For the past 25 years the Japanese coast guard has tested the Porta-Bote with a unique destruction test that includes loading the boat with heavy concrete bags, lifting it high in the air and dropping it back into the ocean. The Porta-Bote has passed this test every single time with not a single damage at all!

    Stability – The Porta-Bote constantly remains steady in spite of waves, winds or one's movement inside the boat. The Porta-Bote has a 1/4" thick polypropylene hull that flexes inward and dissipating the energy of a slamming wave. Its extra stability makes the Porta-Bote an ideal fishing boat, as it allows standing and casting with no fear of capsize.

    Portability – Definitely one of the most exclusive features of the Porta-Bote, as it folds to 4" (11cm) flat and 24" (61cm) width, along with relatively lightweight, this compact boat can be carried on any small car's roof (not to mention larger cars, RV's etc.) and can also be hanged as a dinghy in yachts, cruising boats, seaplanes etc.

    Buoyancy – The Porta-Bote is virtually unsinkable, as it designed to stay afloat and leveled even when filled with water. Polypropylene alone is already buoyant, and with the addition of the inner-side foam material and the hollow seats plus the transom allows even greater floatation.

    Diversity – Assembling certain boat accessories can turn the Porta-Bote to a practical multi-purpose boat. For example, assembling an outboard motor turns the Porta-Bote to a powerboat, while assembling a pair of oars and oarlocks turns it to a row boat. Adding bow trolling mount turns the Porta-Bote to an ultimate fishing boat, while adding a lateen sail turns the Porta-Bote to a lovely sailing boat.

    Maneuverability – When assembling an outboard motor on the Porta-Bote, it turns the Porta-Bote to be quite a fast watercraft using only 2HP motor. The Porta-Bote has a deep "V" entry hull at the bow that cuts through the water with ease. Nevertheless, the Porta-Bote can float even on a 4" water level, making it to be a great maneuverable boat in low level rivers, lakes and even during low-tide at sea.

    Warranty – Since the Porta-Bote is made with extremely high quality and puncture-proof polypropylene hull, the Porta-Bote offers a warranty of almost a lifetime with none less than 10 years on hull and hinges.

    The Porta-Bote gives you the choice for an invigorating outdoor experience for practically every boating purpose. Whether it is for fishing, sailing, rowing, duck hunting or dinghy cruising, the Porta-Bote serves all of the above with supreme excellence. Nevertheless, if lack of space to store such portable boat is what stops your enthusiasm, think again! As the Porta-Bote is so simple and convenient to store that you can even hang it from the ceiling.

    Transferring the Porta-Bote is amazingly easy as it doesn't even require a boat trailer. The Porta-Bote can be placed on top of your car, regardless of the car's size, not to mention RV's, caravans, 4wd's etc. in some large automobiles or caravans it is even possible to stow the Porta-Bote on the vehicles' side.

    Assembling the Porta-Bote takes no more than a few minutes and it easily folds back to just 4"(11cm) flat in thickness and 24"(61cm) in width. The Porta-Bote weighs just half as much as comparable aluminum boats, allows easy carrying with minimum effort.

    As for the Porta-Bote's performance, it leaves similar sized aluminum boats, wooden boats and inflatable boats way behind. These convenient portable boats need only half the horsepower of heavier boats and are virtually puncture-proof. Porta-Bote is extremely stable and unsinkable as it floats even when completely flooded! As for maintenance, well, it may sound funny but there is practically nothing to do! Unlike aluminum boats, repainting isn't necessary at all, as the color stays forever. Nevertheless, there is no need to clean the boat as nothing sticks to its hull, not even dirt.
